Welcome to YMCA Camp Loma Mar
The screams, laughs, and shouts of summer camp have been replaced by the all too familiar sounds of quiet. Yes it’s true, camp is over. I’m sure if you are a former camper or cabin leader from summer 2010, you feel like a piece of you is missing. No longer does watching TV entertain you quite the way it did before camp and it’s now hard to fall asleep because your bedroom is quiet and empty. If you are currently experiencing any or all of these symptoms, please don’t panic. This is a natural feeling you get after an amazing summer at Camp Loma Mar.
“But Sharkie, what can I do about this condition?”
Fortunately, there are a few remedies. For starters, pull out your rag, camp sweatshirt, pillow pet, or session picture and remember all the memories you created this summer. If you still haven’t cleaned out your entire bag from camp yet, go through it one more time. You might find a piece on lanyard string, a twig, a pebble, or if you really lucky, some glitter!!! You can always call up one of the friends you made from this summer and catch up on what you’ve been up to since the end of camp. You can also go to the YMCA Camp Loma Mar Facebook page and look at pictures from this past summer.
Disclaimer: These remedies will only temporarily relieve you of your camp sickness. The only way to truly get over camp, start thinking about next year!!!
